Annual Key Club Events

District Conference (DCON)

The District Convention is another event held every year by the end of each Key Club term. For us, it is open to all Key Clubs in the California-Nevada Hawaii District. DCON provides many opportunities to learn more about Key Club through workshops, where members can meet new friends, and listen to speakers and performers. The District Convention is the best way to connect with hundreds of Key Club members. Award ceremonies are also hosted during DCON to recognize distinguished members and clubs in the district. In between are also small spirit chants that members can participate in as well as a dance. Going to the District Convention is definitely a worthwhile event to experience during your Key Club time.

Fall Rally

Fall Rally is one of the biggest events held by the Cali-Nev-Ha District. Due to the District’s large size, the event is divided into Fall Rally North and Fall Rally South. Fall Rally North is held in Northern California at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Fall Rally South is held in Southern California at Six Flags Magic Mountain. On a designated day in the fall, the District’s Divisions attend Fall Rally to showcase their spirit through multiple contests. LTGs and Executive officers are bidded on at an auction by the different Divisions, where the winning Division would get to spend time with the officer. These funds used to “purchase” the officer and part of the ticket sales go towards the Pediatric Trauma Program. The Divisions also have a chance at winning the Spirit Stick through a cheering competition, where the loudest and most energetic Division would win. For the rest of the day, members will be able to meet other Divisions and spend the rest of the day at the theme park.

Division Council Meeting

DCM stands for Division Council Meeting. It is held once every month on a Saturday for the division to see the updates between the clubs. In the meeting, members can listen to monthly and past DCM recaps and be filled in with new information and events, such as fundraisers, penpal activities, and challenges. After it ends, the division holds a fun game or service event that members can participate in. DCMs can also collab with other divisions. Some well-known DCMs that Division 4 North hosts annually are color run with Division 4 West and 30 South, Olympic-Styled games, Beach Boomba and more.

Regional Training Conference

The Regional Training Conference is hosted every year by our Lieutenant Governors in Region 3. This training conference is open to all Key Club members and officers in our region in hopes of learning more about Key Club and how to be an effective leader. Many workshops are held to inform members about officer duties and helping out in the club as a member. Some workshops include Key Club 101, Fundraising, Running for Office, and Service Projects. The Regional Training Conference also holds icebreakers for members to bond with each other and become closer as a region. One popular activity that divisions will participate in is competing in Spirit Battles, where the loudest and most spirited division cheer will win a prize or some form of a spirit stick.
